I've had some discussions with my colleagues here on this. We all seen what we did during the budget season. We all agree that I think, you know, if there's a— I've been in favor of the committee system from the beginning, and we never had the votes to pass it. I think that when we've seen how it worked, I think everybody kind of agrees that you should have some sort of a committee system. That's just my opinion. And the other thing is I know there was talk that— I don't know if it was amended before in these rules. I would like to make sure that we don't have where there has to be a piece of legislation before we could call a meeting, because, I mean, I— not that I got burned, but a couple of times I just wanted to have a meeting and I took, you know, something from Herkimer on the homeless and different stuff, and it comes out that I you know, was all in favor of that when I just wanted to have a meeting to see what we could do, um, to try to fix it. So is, is that in these rules? Because that's one thing I would like amended about— we can have a meeting at any time that doesn't have to have— it doesn't— you don't have to have legislation and committee to call a meeting.

Yeah, well, we obviously need to pass rules of order tonight. When I look at resolution number 5, that one is standing committees, and that would go back to a full committee structure. And that's one that I'd rather— either we could propose to go back to the rules of order of what they were originally. I don't see that one proposed here. I would like that, just to put everything in committee for us to fully discuss if we want subcommittees or what that looks like.

sorry, number 5 is the standing committees, so that changes from Committee of the Whole to standing committees, which is what we're debating. Right, that doesn't exist. So would we— would the clerk be able to get us the printout of— make a resolution number 12 of the previous committee, um, rules of order?

Yeah, if I may, so the resolution number 5, what I have in front of me as well, has the standing committees, bottom of page 2, top of page 3. So our rules of order from the previous term didn't have standing committees, just the Committee of the Whole. I believe this copy was submitted the beginning of 2024, the beginning of our last term, correct, along with the proposal for Committee of the Whole. So I'm looking at this now, as far as I can tell, resolution number 5 isn't what the council adopted during its last term.

The clerks are printing off the other one to make another resolution for last term's rules of order, and then I say we can put these into committee. Everybody can vote how they want, of course, and they will, but I'll be moving to put these other ones, uh, subcommittees and committee.
